Thi My Lien Nguyen

Artist and Photographer

Thi My Lien Nguyen (b. 1995) is a Swiss artist and photographer of Vietnamese origin, based in Winterthur. Her practice explores themes of belonging, memory, and post-migrant realities through photography, moving image, food, installation and participatory methods. With a sociopolitical lens, she traces cultural memory through rituals, gestures and everyday encounters.

Her work has been shown at Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil (São Paulo), Athens Photo Festival (Benaki Museum), Fotostiftung Schweiz, and Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, and is held in public collections. In 2024, she was awarded the Freiraumbeitrag of the Canton of Zurich and completed residencies in Vietnam (Pro Helvetia) and London (Landis & Gyr). She is part of the curatorial team of Les Complices – a self-organized, community-based off-space in Zurich, dedicated to supporting the ideas and work of queer, trans, intersex, non-binary people, women*, and BIPoC.
